Studying in Australia now has several advantages.

 In News

Before returning with the Omicron form, Covid-19 had taken a step back. As a result of the improved global response, Australia has reopened its doors to international students, and studying in Australia now has several advantages.

The year 2021 will go down in the annals of international higher education as a pivotal one. Many prospective students who had given up hope of studying abroad in a foreign country have had their faith restored by the announcement of the opening of borders. Let us now hear some positive news from down under.

Australia welcomes international students with open arms.

Around 250,000 employment is supported by overseas students, including tens of thousands of Indians, who contribute AUD 31 billion to the Australian economy each year. It is currently the goal of all colleges and universities to ensure students’ long-term success by focusing on 21st-century skills and the needs of the business in the future.

Making the switch from online to campus learning

Students will arrive in a town where 92% of adults over the age of 12 have been vaccinated against measles and mumps and understand the importance of keeping their community safe. Due to the pandemic limitations on campus, the corridors may not be as bustling as they were previously, but the tactile aspect of touch, feel, and understanding will be present. Higher education institutions are currently focusing on filling the gaps left by the past 20 months and providing the academic life that overseas students want and need. As is customary at most Australian universities (including Deakin), returning students at Deakin University are welcomed with welcome packages, complimentary airport pickups, and other special services.

Regulations governing visas and work permits.

In Australia, there is a deep understanding of the link between quality education, job prospects for graduates, and the economic impact on the country. As a result, there is a wide range of employment options for talented individuals, as the government has issued work permits to those who qualify. Covid-19 international border regulations have prevented some temporary graduates (subclass 485), visa holders, from travelling to Australia, so they can now seek a new visa.

Re-applying for the same-length Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) Visa will be made easier for current and former holders of these visas whose visas expired on or after February 1, 2020. Additionally, the Morrison Government has announced that you will grant master’s degrees by coursework students a visa that allows them to stay in Australia for up to three years. Temporary Graduate Visas are available for two years to graduates in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

Sectors and occupations in transition

For both Australia and India, the focus is on employability and keeping track of the economy’ fastest-growing segments and subsectors. They include artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data science (DaaS). Health and related health services such as the care industry, including senior and children’s services, are also in high demand.

The cooperation between the two countries offers a safe future.

A strong and dynamic international education industry is at the heart of the Australian government’s policy, which places students from all over the world at the top of the list. Mathew Johnston, Minister Counsellor (Education and Research) for South Asia at the Australian High Commission, spoke in a webinar hosted by the Deakin University South Asia office at one of the online events. To paraphrase him, “the approach is not just about appreciating the historical contributions of international students, but also looking ahead to see how we can help our students in the future and diversify our teaching methods to improve employability.”
