UK student visa options
A variety of methods for obtaining a student visa for the United Kingdom are available through GOV.UK. It all depends on the length, type, and location of your study at the institution. Here are the four alternatives pupils have:

Standard visitor visa
It’s not just for people on vacation, but you can also use a Standard Visitor visa to do a six-month term of study. Participants in school exchange programs, students taking courses, fieldwork or exams, and academics, including senior doctors and dentists, can all use this visa.
Before you fly to the United Kingdom, you must apply for a Standard Visitor visa online. It costs 95 pounds for a six-month Standard Visitor visa. Three months before your trip, you can apply.
Short-term study visa
It’s a simple visa that allows you to study English in the United Kingdom for more than six months and up to 11 months. For the duration of your course plus an additional 30 days, you are permitted to stay in the United Kingdom. A Short-term study visa costs 18644 INR (£186).
Keep in mind that you are not allowed to do any of the following things while in the UK: change your course of study, work or carry out any business (paid or unpaid), or extend this visa.
Student visa
For a student visa to the UK, you must be 16 or older, have been accepted on a course by an approved student sponsor, have sufficient funds to support yourself and your system (the amount varies depending on your circumstances). Speak, read, write, understand English, and have your parents’ consent if you are 16 or 17. Typically, a student visa is for a lengthier duration of the study. It is preferable to have a sponsoring college or university and a physical location. On this visa, you could be able to work.
When you are eligible to apply depends on applying from within or outside the United Kingdom. If you’re applying from outside the UK, you must submit your visa application six months before the commencement of your course. Within three weeks, you should receive a decision on your visa application.
If you are applying from within the United Kingdom, the deadline is three months before the commencement of your program. The application must be made before the expiration of your current visa. Within 28 days of your existing visa expiring, you must enroll in a new course. Typically, you will hear back within eight weeks. Applying for a student visa from outside the UK costs 34,882 INR (£348), whereas extending or switching to a student visa from within the UK costs 475 pounds.
Child student visa
Four to 17-year-olds can apply for the Child Student visa if they want to attend a private school. This visa allows you to work part-time if you’re at least 16 years old. As part of your application, you’ll need to establish that you’ll be able to financially support yourself in the UK and pay for your course, as well as that your parent or guardian has permitted you to study in the UK.
You can apply from the UK or from outside the UK at different times. Applicants from outside the United Kingdom can apply for a visa six months before beginning their studies. Within three weeks, you’ll know if you’ve been accepted. When applying from within the United Kingdom, you can apply up to three months before the commencement of your program. Before your current visa expires, you need to apply for a new one. After your current visa expires, you must begin a new course of study within 28 days. A decision is usually made within eight weeks.
