Intelligent Overseas Education News Update: It has been more than a year of survival in this Pandemic, and many plans have been changed in unpredictable ways, especial for the Indian Students (a) International Students who planned to Study Abroad. So the main question to the UK is: In 2021-22, how will UK universities attract Indian Students (a) International Students?

According to a spokeswoman for Universities UK International (UUKi), UK universities have all the pieces to attract international students post-pandemic successfully. Meanwhile, UUKi Assistant Director for External Affairs Andy Howells cited the recent IDP Crossroads 4 survey urging for a “bolder, braver, and louder” approach in the coming months.

Though students perceive Canada as the best education destination, Howells believes UK colleges have what it takes to resurrect the British attraction. “IDP also notes that prospective foreign students’ willingness to shift destinations in order to receive what they want — for the most part, an on-campus experience — is strong and rising. There is an opportunity for the United Kingdom here. If only we could get these beautiful words to spread, “he hoped.

Universities in the United Kingdom are still adaptable.

The UK has kept its borders open to international students and extended remote learning exemptions until April 6, 2022; this means that newly arrived overseas students can begin learning remotely (if required by health and visa requirements) without jeopardizing their future employment opportunities.

Furthermore, students who began studying remotely as early as autumn 2020 have until September 27 to enter the UK and remain eligible for the Graduate Route, which was launched earlier this month and gives students an extra three months to return to the UK; for many, this keeps their dream of working abroad alive.

Allowing students to begin their studies online and travel later has helped UK institutions retain and recruit new students. The increase in visa applications demonstrates this. Thus, according to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) data, student visas from Indian students alone have increased by 30%.

Travel Support with Assistance During the Pandemic.

Following India’s inclusion on the country’s “red list,” UK institutions offered to quarantine returning Indian students and maybe cover their costs. Furthermore, numerous colleges provided additional help for returning students, including airport pick-ups. According to the IDP poll, 34% of UK students claim to have received physical and mental health assistance. In contrast to a global average of 24%, UK institutions appear to be doing better than the majority.

The London Higher and UUKi international student advisory, which launched in March 2021, addressed a fundamental level of foreign student welfare. These steps aim to provide “hardship funds, flexible and coordinated student fee payment plans, and build a strong foundation with all students to ensure they know what services are available and how to obtain them” equally available to domestic and international students.

“This helped us establish ourselves as top destinations for international students by those who do come, if not yet by those who are contemplating their arrival,” Howells explained. Furthermore, almost half of the UK population had vaccinated, which bodes well for the travel, retail, and education sectors in the coming months. Free immunizations are also available to international students.
