Canada Travel Update – Easing of Travel Restrictions

According to the Canadian International Airlines Association, flights to Canada from India may be taken via an indirect route during this period. They will need to obtain a negative Covid-19 molecular test result from a third country before departing for Canada to continue their journey.
Currently, one of the most popular and current third-country options for travelling to Canada is through Mexico, which offers the following benefits:
- All travellers who have a valid visa for Canada or the United States will be issued a permit upon arrival.
- There will be no requirement for quarantine.
- There will be a 48-hour layover period between flights. To obtain the results of an RT-PCR test.
The following are the current air travel restrictions in effect for passengers arriving in Canada by plane:-
Arriving in Canada before 9th August in 2021
You will be subjected to a Covid-19 molecular test at the airport upon your arrival in Canada. The current quarantine requirement for non-vaccinated travellers is 14 days, including a mandatory three-night reservation at a government-authorized hotel, followed by an 11-day quarantine schedule. Travellers should check out of their hotel as soon as they receive confirmation that their test results were negative. Then they should proceed to the quarantine facility. A second kit, complete with instructions, will be provided for a self-administered test, which will be performed after eight days from the date of arrival. If the test results are positive or indeterminate, they will be directed to the appropriate quarantine facility as directed by a quarantine officer.
Exemptions from the 3-night government hotel stay, the 14-day quarantine, and the day-8 Covid-19 test are available to passengers who are fully vaccinated and have received vaccines approved by Canada at least 14 days before the day of entry into Canada, provided that they meet all of the other requirements.
Arriving in Canada on or after 9th August in the year 2021.
Air passengers arriving after 9th August 2021 will no longer be required to book a 3-night stay in a government-approved hotel, regardless of whether or not they have received a vaccination. Those who have not been fully immunized, on the other hand, must remain quarantined for 14 days.
Even if a traveller has received all of their vaccinations, they will be required to prepare a 14-day quarantine plan if the officer determines that they are not eligible to be considered a fully vaccinated traveller. Their 14-day quarantine plan should not be cancelled until they have received written confirmation from the officer that they are exempt from quarantine and do not need to do so. Completely vaccinated travellers will not be required to submit to a post-arrival test unless they are randomly selected to participate in the COVID-19 molecular test on Day 1. However, they must submit to a COVID-19 test before their arrival.

If Canada’s epidemiology continues to be favorable, the government intends to open the country’s borders to fully-vaccinated travellers for non-essential travel starting in September of this year.
