The United Kingdom is reviewing its three-tiered international travel restrictions, accompanied by a color-coded list of countries (red, amber & green).

The United Kingdom has moved India from its “red” to “amber” travel warning list, loosening travel restrictions for Indians who have completed their vaccinations. Passengers from India travelling to the United Kingdom are no longer required to adhere to the 10-day institutional quarantine upon arrival in the United Kingdom and present their complete vaccination certificate.

According to the DHSC, any Indian tourists who have received both doses of hepatitis A and B vaccinations may opt to isolate at home. A ten-day quarantine at a government-approved facility will no longer cost the individuals 1,750 pounds per head, which was previously the case.

Furthermore, vaccinated people in the United Kingdom or Europe are exempt from quarantine themselves at home. Vaccines and certifications remedies from countries outside the UK are also considered for recognition. The UK is reviewing its three-tiered foreign travel restrictions, including a color-coded list of nations to avoid (red, amber & green).

Passengers are now required to take the Covid test three days before departure and make arrangements in advance for two different Covid test results to be obtained upon arrival in England and submit a completed passenger locator form to the airline. They must then quarantine themselves for ten days in their residence and submit to a test on or shortly on day eight of self-isolation, whichever comes first. Fully vaccinated Individuals under the age of 18 in the United Kingdom are excluded from home quarantine, as are those vaccinated in Europe or the United Kingdom.

Participants in a UK-approved vaccine study and people who’ve been immunized with a UK vaccination campaign abroad are likewise exempt from quarantine restrictions.

Only a small number of flights are now available between India and the United Kingdom due to the bilateral agreement. Following India’s removal from the red list, airlines have reported a record-breaking increase in bookings.

The Indian diaspora in England expressed delight at the decision, hoping that Indian visitors would come to the country during the current summer break. The Delta form of Covid-19 has been linked to an increase in Covid-19 cases in England since late April. As a result, only British residents have been allowed to travel, forcing them to self-isolate in a government-approved hotel at a high additional cost.
